Who we are
Christ Church is a local member Church of the United Reformed Church based in Chase Side, Enfield, North London. Our building dates back to 1874 and we have held regular services uninterrupted since then.
As a part of the United Reformed Church, we are a member of a national Church movement that began as a union of the Congregational and Presbyterian Churches in 1972 but whose origins date back to the 16th Century. The United Reformed Church is one of the three main Free Churches along with the Baptist and Methodist Churches.
We believe:
We are located approximately halfway along Chase Side, Enfield (our postcode is EN2 6NJ), immediately next to Christ Church Close. To view a map of our location, please click here.
The 191 bus route passes the Church and several other bus routes pass nearby. Enfield Chase, Gordon Hill and Enfield Town train stations are within walking distance. The TfL Journey Planner can be used to find directions using public transport.
Both the Church and the hall have disabled access. The Church contains a sound system which we use in the Sunday services, and this includes facilities for the hard of hearing. We have also recently installed a computer and projector system which we use in some of our services.
Christ Church is also home to a number of organisations for all age groups. For more details about these, please see our what's on page. You can also find out a lot of other information about Christ Church using the menu at the top of the page.
Motto and mission statement
Our motto: Enter to worship, depart to serve.
Our mission statement: Christ Church United Reformed Church aims to provide through its worship, work, witness and mission an effective contribution to the spiritual and social welfare of the Church family and the wider community.

We believe:
- in one almighty God, our loving heavenly Father who created the world and gives life
- that God became man in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to forgive our sins and was raised to life to offer us eternal life through Him
- in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour
- that God is still with us through the Holy Spirit to guide and help us
- that we are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbour as ourselves
